Starting with a warm and friendly welcome, Caroline was so lovely and helpful; even though we were late because of M4 chaos they quickly settled us in and kindly got the wood fired hot tub and wood burner ready for us so everything was warm and cosy on arrival! Its the nicest wood fired hot tub we’ve been in and super easy to use. The photos do not do this hideaway justice. Secluded, quiet, Super clean and beautifully decorated, lots of thoughtful amenities you could ever need to cook or relax. We also got a lovely welcome hamper with some treats. And the basics of bread, milk and butter were already there which was an awesome touch. Also loved the games cupboard that is stocked nicely with all the favourites. Would 100% recommend; was so sad when we had to leave, we will definitely be rebooking in the future cannot wait.

As soon as Caroline answered the door we knew we were in for a great stay. From the 1st peek of the lodge to locking the door to leave every moment we were smiling. Caroline and Derek have thought of everything. Every small detail has a reason to be there. We turned up and the fire in the Lodge was lit and hot tub was steaming away ready for us to relax in. Inside the lodge was spotlessly clean. Everything smelt fresh and clean. The little welcome hamper was great. The offer of the hot tub being lit for us the next day ready for us after our day walking was taken up. We came back and even the fire In the lodge had been lit for us. Caroline and Derek went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. It was a very relaxing and romantic break away. The location and wildlife is second to none. Can’t wait to go back.

Wow! The little house was absolutely stunning! Firstly, Caroline & Derek gave us a lovely warm welcome and took us round to where we were to be staying. We arrived quite late, but were still asked if we were ok for food supplies, which we found very thoughtful. They’ve taken great consideration in creating this beautiful place, allowing absolute privacy, peace and tranquillity. The little house has been cleverly designed to be compact but spacious, with a decent sized shower/toilet; built to a very high standard. The bed is huge, the kitchen small, but once again built to optimise everything you could possibly need. The fire pit/bbq was fantastic and we made sure we had an evening sat outside to use it. I wish we could’ve stayed longer, as the experience was worth every penny. Thanks guys and hope to see you both again soon!

Wow what can we say! This place exceeded all of our expectations. We were greeted by the very welcoming Caroline and Derek who were so kind to show us around the hut to ensure we knew where everything was. Bed is super comfortable and everywhere was extremely clean and brand new! This place is very secluded with so much privacy which we loved as we meditated on the beautiful Miranda daily. Surrounded by nature, and you can see the stars at night if it’s clear! This place has so much to offer, it gave us such a special memory for my boyfriends birthday, we really couldn’t knock it. We will certainly be back!

Thank you Caroline & Derek.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our time at this incredible log cabin. It was so peaceful, tranquil and a complete switch off from our busy lives. When we found out it was a self build, we were even more stunned! The finish is fantastic and every little detail thought of. The fire pit is an excellent addition too for either toasting marshmallows or BBQ flame grilled burgers! A fabulous, one of a kind staycation!

We will be back in the future, I’m sure!

We stayed for two nights in Caroline and Derek’s lodge, having managed to book in last minute following a bit of a disastrous start to our holiday at some different accommodation. At our time of booking it only had one review (albeit glowing!) and so we were a little worried about what it was going to be like - we needn’t have been. When we arrived we were greeted by Caroline and Derek who were incredibly welcoming and walked us down to the lodge to show us around.

The lodge itself was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for - incredibly clean, beautifully decorated and very peaceful with a lovely outdoor area including a covered porch and a fire pit. Caroline and Derek had left a little basket with some little jams and marmalades, tea and coffee as well as a fresh loaf of bread and some milk in the fridge which helped us to feel at home immediately.

The more we looked at the lodge the more we found to appreciate - there was a lot of great craftsmanship and use of construction materials in different ways throughout the building was really clever. It really is even more beautiful than in the photos! Practicality wise, despite its small size, the lodge was very well equipped with everything you would need and the bathroom contained a decent sized powerful shower.

Overall we were really impressed and are already planning a return visit. Thank you Caroline and Derek!

Firstly Caroline and Derek were fantastic hosts. They greeted us with a very friendly nature, showed us down to the lodge from where we parked, which is only a 30 second walk, Derek even helped us with some of our bags - he put them on his quad and drove it up for us. A parking area closer to the lodge is in the plan for the future but it really wasn't an issue as it is only a very short walk at the moment. The lodge was immaculately clean, location was tranquil and peaceful. Inside has been well thought out regarding making use of the space, very cosy and beautifully finished.

There were some welcoming gifts left for us, which were personalised as my partner is vegan, and both of us drink decaf so they went out their way to make sure there were things suited to us which we really didn't expect, but we very much appreciated it. Lovely fire pit/BBQ outside which we very much enjoyed making the most of, especially toasting marshmallows one evening. No TV and practically no phone signal around the lodge but that is the idea of this location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - we sure did. Definitely recommend taking some books and/or board games with you as was lovely sitting on the porch with the fire crackling in the background whilst we chilled out with a glass of wine, enjoying each others company playing board and card games. Lots of great places to visit nearby (30+ minute drive)

Some of our recommendations are;
New Quay - lovely fish and chip shops, cafe/bistros and a pastry shop - to name a few. Beautiful beach views and a chance of spotting dolphins. Be sure to get there early as parking is limited.
Cardigan - lovely quaint town with many historic looking buildings, little side streets and many shops to visit. Even an amazing bakery with many vegan goodies, which is a rare find.

Caroline and Derek suggested many places to us but we didn't get a chance to visit all that we wanted to as our break away was only short.

Caroline, Derek and the Tiny House gets a perfect recommendation from us, definitely worth a visit!
